Brief: Create an engaging promo video for a bakery shop.
Challenges: Apart from budget constraints, I was asked to shoot the video within business hours. It was a big challenge as the staff were busy attending to orders and phone calls. It was nearly impossible to record sound effects.
Part of my concept was to start with a slice of pizza being eaten and reverse the steps backwards into slicing the pizza as it would be great to add a human element and that delicious aspect. We weren’t able to do have additional people in the shop due to budget and lockdown.
Solution: Shot 1st part of the video during business hours. Scheduled a 2nd shoot day to resume the remaining part of the video when the shop was closed to public.
The 1st thing that hit me after tasting their delicious food, is how amazing their dough is. After all, it’s the main base of their product. From there the concept was born. I started the scene with a delicious pizza coming straight out of the oven, then taking it all the way back to basics “It’s all about the dough”.
Overall, it was a fun, challenging and an amazing experience.
